A controversial apartment block plan has been given the green light by Newcastle Council.
The three-storey development has been approved for a parcel of land on Laman Street, known as Glovers Lane Reserve.
The Cooks Hill Community Group has been fighting to preserve the site, arguing the project would destroy the area’s heritage.
It says it’s very disappointed with the decision, and is considering its options.
