Police divers are searching lake waters off Warners Bay for a gun thought to have been used in the shooting death of a man in the Lake Macquarie suburb of Bolton Point last March.
Two people have already been charged over the death but police say that new information suggests a gun was thrown into the lake off the Esplanade at Warners Bay.
