WOW DAY RECOGNISES SES VOLUNTEERS

Tamworth’s Peel Street turned a bright shade of orange today for Wear Orange Wednesday, in recognition of the valuable work carried out by the state’s SES.
Free orange pasta was on the menu, as well as giveaways and photo opportunities to promote the cause.
“Over 40,000 volunteers Australia wide give time to the community in storm, flood and tsunami.”
The main goal is to encourage residents to sign up as volunteers, especially those in a growing regional city such as Tamworth.
“So admin positions, we’d love a catering person, or someone who’d just like to help in office duties, but we do always need those active members who like to get up on the roof and do the hard yards in the middle of the night.”
