Richmond Valley Council has rejected claims it’s looking to sell the Casino saleyards.
It follows a community meeting earlier this week, in which concerns about the site’s future were raised.
General Manager, Vaughn Macdonald, says council is currently considering two options – a $14-million re-development, or a $7-million upgrade.
In either case, he says the saleyards will remain in public hands.
Councillors are set to make a decision on plans for the site when they meet next Tuesday.
