LIBERAL PARTY NAMES NEWCASTLE CANDIDATE
The federal seat of Newcastle finally has a Liberal Party candidate, with businessman David Compton named this morning.
In his sales pitch to voters, the 54-year-old builder says he’s “passionate about giving back to the community” and he “understands the pressures facing small businesses and companies in the region”.
“Our community deserves someone who is going to listen and fight for our area to ensure the good work of the Turnbull Government continues and Newcastle receives the support, jobs, growth and investment it deserves and that’s exactly what I will do,” he said.
Liberal opponents for the seat of Hunter and Shortland are yet to be named.
