RUNNERS TICKLED PINK FOR MOTHERS DAY RUN
While many Hunter mums enjoyed a well-earned sleep in this morning, some hit the pavement for the annual Mother’s Day Classic.
Hundreds of participants ran or walked up to seven kilometres, with many dedicating their efforts to loved ones affected by breast cancer.
“There’s lots of people here remembering friends and family members that they’ve lost, but there’s also people who may supporting those fighting the battle at the moment”, says race organiser Sheena Tierney.
More than 1,200 people took part, with money raised going towards efforts to combat the disease.
