MORE RECYCLING OPPORTUNITIES IN GUNNEDAH

Gunnedah Council has expanded its Community Recycling Centre, thanks to a state government grant of more than $160,000.
It means the centre can accept selected household garbage, alongside green waste, metal and concrete items.
Council hopes it will reduce the amount of rubbish that ends up landfill.
“Some of the potential contaminants that they could you know leach into the environment, into groundwater, is seen as an issue.”
Acceptable waste includes paint, batteries, smoke detectors, light globes and fire extinguishers.
