The state government has announced a shortlist of five companies to tender for construction of Newcastle’s light rail project.
Transport Minister Andrew Constance says all have experience in such work.
“The NSW Government is committed to delivering a world-class light rail system in Newcastle and the five organisations selected have the right experience and expertise to help us do so,” he said.
The companies are:
- CPB Contractors Pty Ltd
- Downer EDI Works Pty Ltd
- John Holland Pty Ltd
- Laing O’Rourke Australia Construction Pty Limited
- McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust) Pty Ltd
Each will now respond to the government’s invitation to tender, before the successful applicant is chosen later this year.
