MAN CHARGED AFTER ALLEGED ROBBERY IN NEWCASTLE

A 52-year-old man has been charged, following an alleged robbery in Newcastle earlier this month.
Around 12:30pm on Sunday April 3rd, a man entered a convenience store on Wharf Road and allegedly threatened a 23-year-old male employee.
He left the store with a sum of cash, running north twoards Hunter Street.
He was arrested last Friday at Woolgoolga and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station, where he was charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon.
He was refused bail to attend Newcastle Local Court on Wednesday 15 June.
