MAN BITTEN BY POLICE DOG

A man involved in a stand-off with police in the Hunter Valley is nursing an arm wound, after being bitten by a police dog.

Police were called to a home at Raymond Terrace late yesterday to investigate a breached apprehended violence order.

When they arrived, a 32-year-old man refused to come out.

After a two hour stand-off, the man ran from the house but was arrested with the help of a police dog.

He was taken to the John Hunter Hospital suffering a a bite to his left forearm.
