POLICE OFFICERS ASSAULTED AT BRUNSWICK HEADS

Two police officers have been left with cuts and swelling, after trying to arrest a man at Brunswick Heads, on the New South Wales North Coast.
Officers stopped a car on Riverside Crescent, at around 10 o’clock last night, after noticing the driver acting suspiciously.
It’s alleged as police spoke to the 22-year-old man he became violent, punching and kicking the officers.
He was eventually arrested and taken to Byron Bay Police Station, where he was charged with several offences including two counts of assaulting police.
A search of the man allegedly found cannabis.
He was granted conditional bail to appear in court later in June.
