DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES GIVEN BOOST IN KEMPSEY
Round-the-clock assistance and extra accommodation will soon be provided to domestic violence victims in Kempsey and Port Macquarie.
A $-660,000 package was announced today to help address the growing demand for assistance on the Mid North Coast.
“There is a big challenge in this area around domestic violence very substantial increases and this funding announcement is more than 50 percent increase in the funding and we’re hoping it will make a big difference, Brad Hazzard Minister for Family and Community Services said.
Kempsey’s Samaritan foundation received almost $400,000 to assist local women forced to flee their homes.
“This additional funding will be used in the local area to assist these women and children,”Shaniane Andrews said.
