Federal Minister for School Education Peter Garrett received a warm welcome, on his arrival at Green Point Christian College this afternoon, with students forming a guard of honour.
The former lead singer of Midnight Oil was on the coast to inspect something close to his heart, the school’s new federally funded Creative and Performing Arts Centre.
As a bonus, he was treated to performances by students from schools right across the coast.
The $3.2 million centre was officially opened just three weeks ago.
