While the battle for the seat of New England has been all about Barnaby Joyce and Tony Windsor, the Labor Party has today made its move, announcing David Ewings as its candidate.
Currently living in Scone, he’s a fitter by trade, and describes the National Broadband Network, education and creating regional jobs as his main priorities.
The party hopes he’ll provide greater impact on the polls than Stephen Hewitt in 20-13, who tallied just 12 per cent of the vote.
