IMPRESSIVE OVERNIGHT RAIN FOR THE NORTHERN NSW COAST

Up to 80mm fell at Lake Ainsworth, 70mm at Minnie Water and Evans Head, Coffs and Cape Byron received 60mm. Some of the heaviest coastal rain for northern NSW since last April. About 1500 lighting strikes were also recorded with and impressive light show happening offshore. The active trough that has been causing the heavy down pours over the past couple of days for SE QLD and NE NSW will move offshore. The showers will ease off tomorrow all but drying up up over the next couple of days before re-emerging from early next week with a little bit of inland rain finally on the way.
