HALF OF WOOLOMIN CONTAMINATION FREE
Good news has been announced for Woolomin residents today with approximately half the town given the all clear following a 400 litre fuel leak from the General Store in February.
Residents haven’t been able to use bore water due to contamination since then, but recent drilling works have identified areas not impacted by the fuel plume.
“It’s generally to the east of Nundle Road and the area as you approach into Woolomin from Tamworth because that’s quite a long way from the plume and also the areas behind the plume itself.”
However council warns drinking the water is still off limits.
