Ballina icon the Big Prawn has settled into its new home.
The 38-tonne Crustacean was slowly craned 200 metres to its new base this morning, and will eventually be the welcoming mascot for a new Bunnings store.
The relocation helped the prawn regain its tourism value, with plenty of people stopping to take pictures.
Even the work crew were excited to be involved.
“it was different, it was exciting to lift the prawn up, I’ve travelled up and down this road for 18 years and I never dreamt I’d lift the prawn one day you know”
The complex will be completed next year.
