SEABIRDS TAKE FLIGHT ON THE COAST
There was a happy ending for two pelicans today, nursed back to health and released by Australian Sea Bird Rescuers on the Central Coast.
The volunteer organisation says it couldn’t have done it without the support of the community.

The local water & land bird sickness & pathology has nothing to do with contaminated food. An investigation has been underway & is ongoing in relation to the causative mechanism/organism. The morbidity & mortality in the Blackwall area is due to a “toxic, mismanaged stormwater drain or two were put in place in the mid 1990s” replacing a creek & servicing an industrial area. I have perrsonally paddled in 450+ of these sick, dying & dead pelicans during less than 6 years of research! Australian Seabird Rescue doesn’t work with Wildlife Arc & the organization is funded for cost recovery by government.
