An underground coal mine in Narrabri, operated by Whitehaven, was shut down this morning, after two protesters locked onto a coal conveyor.
The female protesters, both in their 20’s, are believed to be part of the Front Line Action on Coal group.
A spokesperson for the group says the protest was in response to the Federal Environment Minister’s inaction over protection of the Leard State Forest.
