FIREARMS AND CANNABIS SEIZED DURING BUNDOOK PROPERTY SEARCH

Police have seized a number of unregistered firearms and cannabis plants following a property search near Taree yesterday.

Ongoing investigations into drugs offences led police to attend a home on Easton Street in Bundook around 10am on Thursday.

During a search of the property, detectives allegedly seized six unregistered firearms, a crossbow, eight cannabis plants, and a quantity of dried cannabis.

A 47-year-old man attended Taree Police Station in relation to the search around 3pm yesterday, where he was charged with cannabis offences, possessing a prohibited weapon, and a number of firearms-related offences.

The man will appear in court today.
