In a surprising move, Australia’s unemployment rate has fallen to 5.8 per cent in February after the number of people looking for work dropped.
Jobs growth was almost flat in the month, with full-time employment up 15,900, and part-time jobs down by 15,600.
The participation rate, which refers to the number of people either employed or actively looking for work, fell to 64.9 per cent.
