TAMWORTH OPEN STATE LEAGUE ACCOUNT WITH CRUSHING WIN

The Tamworth Thunderbolts are ruing the State League basketball draw, with their round two match not for another three weeks.

They were hoping to maintain the momentum of yesterday’s season opener in Coffs Harbour, where they beat the Suns 107-49.

Between now and then, training will be key.

“We just have to make sure we stay focused, and we stay hungry, because at the end of the day we have a goal and, you know, that goal hasn’t been achieved yet.”

Despite it being their first game together, the Thunderbolts looked like a well-oiled machine, with their swift ball movement too much for Coffs to handle.

“When you play unselfish, you get a lot of high percentage shots. Because of that we were able to get a lot of open shots and were able to push the ball up the floor in transition. Everybody had confidence.”

Tamworth’s next clash is in Port Macquarie on April 9.
