IMPARJA CUP CHAMPION TOURING THE NORTH WEST

Cricket New South Wales is trying to attract more Indigenous talent to the sport, and an Imparja Cup champion was in Tamworth today looking for recruits.
Brett Russell admits it’ll be tough competing with rugby league and Aussie Rules, but says school-based T20 Blast sessions are the right way forward.
“You’re not going to see a lot of Indigenous kids stand on the oval for five hours fielding. You got to make it interesting and then, I guess, start from a T20 format.”
Russell will continue his north west visit in Gunnedah tomorrow.
