LAKES WAY UPGRADE ON THE WAY

There’ll be delays for drivers travelling between Taree with Forster,

with an upgrade planned for the Lakes Way.

A $1.2 million dollar revamp between Godfrey Hill Road and Talabah Close, will begin on Monday.

While the second phase, due to get underway in April, will see the road closed to south bound traffic.

It means those travelling to Forster from Taree will be forced to use the Failford Road turn off.
“we’ve consulted with emergency services, bus company our neighbouring council and the Roads and Maritime Services,” Phil Miles from Greater Taree City Council said.

With more than 7,000 motorists using the road daily, it’s one of the busiest in the region.

The works are expected to be complete in 18 weeks.
