MESSAGES OF SUPPORT FOR EQUESTRIAN RIDER’S FAMILY
The parents of a 17-year-old rising equestrian star, who was killed during a competition at the Hunter Valley, say they’ve been overwhelmed by the kindness and sympathy of thousands of people from around the world.
Olivia Inglis died on Sunday, after her horse Coriolanus tripped and fell during a jump at the Scone Horse Trials.
“We have been overwhelmed by the kindness and sympathy from family and friends throughout the school, equestrian and thoroughbred communities,” said Arthur and Charlotte Inglis, in a statement.
“We are so proud of Olivia and the beautiful young woman she was in every way. We are blessed to have had the opportunity to share our passion for horses with our children.”
The family has confirmed Coriolanus suffered catastrophic injuries in the fall and was euthanised yesterday.
A funeral service for the 17-year-old will be held on Monday at St Jude’s Church in Randwick, Sydney.
