Two police officers have been taken to hospital after their vehicle rolled in Newcastle this morning.
Police say the officers were in suburban Hamilton when the driver of a small van apparently failed to give way at the intersection of Lawson and Kemp streets around 8.30.
The impact pushed the general duties wagon on to its side. The police vehicle was not involved in a chase or under lights and sirens.
The officers were taken to hospital for observation and the driver of the van was not injured.
Police say they will speak with the van driver, later on Tuesday.
