BELMONT KEEPS FINALS HOPES ON TRACK

In Newcastle District Cricket, Hamwicks were ticking along nicely, before Belmont decided to up ante.

A bouncer to the helmut of Josh Trappel was enough to evoke some life in the home side – two balls later he found the boundary down the leg side.

Hamwicks continued to chip away until Ray Cooper got the breakthrough, knocking over Matt Webber.

Belmont is well placed to keep its finals hopes alive.
