TWO TRUCK SMASH ON PACIFIC HIGHWAY
A man has been lucky to escape injury following a truck crash on the Pacific Highway near Rainbow Flat this afternoon.
It’s believed a B-Double struck the back of a stationary RMS truck, which had been parked in one lane of the highway while workers carried out maintenance nearby.
The B-Double then hit a tree, trapping the driver.
“He was freed by the VRA workers but he is being checked out in hospital to make sure that he has no internal injuries that we don’t know about, Chief Inspector Christine George from Manning Great Lakes Command said.
The crash has prompted a safety reminder from police.
“The RMS have been working in this area for over a month cutting foliage away and motorists really need to take care when they see those warning vehicles and they need to adhere to the reduced 80 kilometer speed limit, she said.
