VAN EGMOND AND LOGARZO HELP AUSTRALIA TO HISTORIC WIN

Newcastle-bred footballer Emily van Egmond was heavily involved in the Matildas 3-1 win over Japan.
She displayed defensive toughness to shut down Japan’s attack, before laying on the crucial cross for Australia’s third goal.
Meanwhile, Jets midfielder Chloe Logarzo was instrumental in the Matildas’ attack early on, but suffered an injury scare in a heavy challenge at the end of the first half.
