Police are searching for an offender, after a man was shot near Lake Macquarie this morning.
Emergency services were called to Stratton Street, in Edgeworth, at about 6.40 to find a 30-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his shoulder.
He was treated on the scene before being taken to John Hunter Hospital, where he remains in a stable condition.
The crime scene will be examined by forensic officers, anyone with information is urged to come forward.
