Lake Macquarie sailor Will Ryan and crewmate Mat Belcher have won bronze at the 470 World Championships in Argentina.
The defending world champions had a chance to reclaim their crown, but a fourth place finish in the double-points medal race saw them beaten to the top of the podium by crews from Croatia and New Zealand.
Speaking after the race, Ryan admitted it’s been a difficult week, with light winds and thick seaweed proving tough to overcome.
He says surrendering the world title will only make him more focused, with six months of training left before Rio.
