Former Tamworth junior basketballer Carly Boag has impressed in her Women’s National Basketball League debut season, winning the Sydney Uni Flames Most Improved Player.
In the final eight rounds of competition, her minutes on court improved to more than 20 per game.
Increased playing time resulted in Boag averaging seven rebounds per game in the last seven matches, and scoring 40 points across the final five games.
Coaches were impressed with her ability to cover forward and centre, with the 24 year old expected to push for a starting position next year.
