EMERGENCY SERVICES KEPT BUSY AS TEMPS HEAT UP
With the mercury rising across the Mid North Coast, over the past couple of days, emergency services have been on high alert.
Warmer temperatures have created ideal conditions for fires.
It comes after the Rural Fire Service decided last week to end the bushfire danger period early in Taree.
“We haven’t had this season at all we’ve got a tow bands around and some very high to high fire dangers around yer it gives us some concern but people just be careful, RFS’s Kerry Kichin said.
The hot weather has also kept paramedics busy.
With plenty taking the opportunity to get out and enjoy the sunshine, the message from health professionals is clear.
“Go out and lay on the beach and don’t feel like they are dehydrating but they are they are losing a lot of fluid over that time they really need to keep the hydration up,” NSW Ambulance Steve Towle said.
