WEATHER: EXTREMELY HOT BEFORE A WEEKEND CHANGE

The mercury has soared into the high 30s across the Upper Hunter and NW. Tomorrow the first weak front will deliver relief to the Central Coast and Hunter before spreading north to the MNC. For northern NSW and SE QLD it will remain very hot until a stronger southerly moves through on Saturday, clearing the heat while producing some rain. Winston continues to track westward towards the east Australian coast and the swell will also peak on Saturday coinciding with the southerly change.
