COFFS COUNCILLORS TO VOTE AGAIN ON ROAD PROJECT

Coffs Harbour City councillors will vote again on whether to allow a road
to be built through Pioneer Park in the CBD.

The leader of last year’s protest over the plan, Councillor Sally Townley has submitted a recission motion.

She wants to defer the project until the impacts on koalas are known.

Others argue the park has always been a road reserve and traffic gridlock is likely, unless the link road is built.

One councillor in favour of the road, Rod Degens(DEE- GENS), will be absent from tomorrow’s night’s council meeting.
