A Newcastle-based sports betting company has been fined $5,000 – and ordered to pay another $11,000 in costs – after pleading guilty to publishing illegal advertising.
Topbetta offered inducements to gamble by promoting “No Lose Saturday” on its website, between October 2014 and May 2015.
The advertising breached betting regulations for New South Wales.
Sportsbetting agencies usually avoid such penalties by adding fine print, excluding New South Wales residents.
