BRUNSWICK HIT-RUN DRIVER CHARGED

A driver, accused of failing to stop after hitting a pedestrian near Brunswick Heads last Friday, has been charged.

Police believe the 27 year old man was travelling east on the Old Pacific Highway when he allegedly struck the 23 year old male, before fleeing the scene.

Officers questioned the accused on Sunday, before charging him yesterday with failing to stop and assist after a vehicle impact and causing grievous bodily harm.

He’ll front Byron Bay Local Court in April.
