SINGLETON SALEYARD UPGRADE ON TRACK

The $6-million upgrade of the Singleton saleyards is on track, with tenders for the design to be called next week.
“The exciting thing about this is that we’re going to have a modern facility that has a roof, soft floor for the animals and everyone who uses it will be safe”, says Cr Gary Thompson from Singleton Council.
The overhaul is expected to be finished early next year.
Meanwhile, Scone Council is also looking to upgrade its saleyards, and wants the federal government to match its $1.5-million contribution to see the project well underway by 2017.
