In his first season, Tamworth product Nick Kay has made his mark on the National Basketball League, picking up the competition’s Rookie of the Year award last night.
Playing for Townsville as a regular member of the team’s starting five, he averaged 10 points per game and six rebounds.
It caps off a successful week for the 23-year-old, after he was named by Crocodiles fans as their choice for player of the year, as well as players’ player.
