BRIDGE CLOSED FOR FOUR MONTHS

Residents of Woolomin also have traffic issues to deal with, with Westbank Bridge closed for four months for upgrades.

The current timber structure will be replaced by a concrete passage over the Peel River, meaning the 12 tonne load limit will be abolished.

A side road will be made available through the reserve, with police to keep an eye on those not obeying the speed limit of 20 kilometres per hour.

Alternative routes also include the Back Woolomin Road from Dungowan, with the new bridge expected to be open in June.
