WOMAN TO FACE COURT AFTER HITTING SCHOOL GIRL WHILE ALLEGEDLY DRIVING DRUNK
A 55-year-old woman is due to face Ballina Local Court after she struck a nine-year-old school girl, while allegedly driving drunk on the state’s north coast yesterday.
Just after 4pm, the girl got off a bus on The Ridgeway at Cumbalum, and was allegedly hit by a car when she tired to cross the road.
The girl suffered head and chest injuries and remains in Lismore Base Hospital.
The driver of the vehicle was submitted to a roadside breath test, which allegedly provided a positive reading, she was arrested and later provided an alleged mid-range reading of 0.103.
The woman was charged with mid-range PCA, and has had her licence suspended.
She’ll face court next month.
