MOBILE COVERAGE IMPROVING
Mobile phone coverage in the New England is expected to drastically improve over the coming months, with three new mobile towers to be constructed.
As part of the federal government’s $385-million mobile black spot program, Elsmore near Inverell, as well as Hillgrove and Invergowrie, both near Armidale, will receive new stations.
Federal MP Barnaby Joyce says it will benefit emergency services, businesses and residents.
Round one of the program will see nearly 500 stations rolled out in regional and remote areas.
