RALLY AUSTRALIA PAYS COUNCIL TO REPAIR DAMAGED ROADS
Rally Australia has paid almost $13,000 to the Nambucca Shire Council to cover
repairs to roads and plastic guide posts damaged during last September’s round of the World Rally Car Championships.
The council voted to send the organisers an invoice after an engineer’s report found damage was more extensive than previous years.
Council arguing the unsealed roads were closed to the public when the damage occurred.
A Rally Australia spokesperson says the organisation is always responsible when communities are affected and was happy to help the council on this occasion.
