ATTEMPTED ROBBERY OUTSIDE GOSFORD RAILWAY STATION
A man has been charged after he allegedly attempted to rob another man at Gosford yesterday.
About 7.20pm on Sunday, an 18-year-old man was standing at the bus interchange outside Gosford Railway Station, when another man spoke to him.
It’s alleged the unknown man threatened him with a knife and attempted to steal his iPod.
The 18-year-old victim fled the area.
Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command were notified and located a 22-year-old man nearby.
When they attempted to speak to him, it’s alleged he ran away.
A short foot pursuit followed, before officers arrested him.
Officers searched the man and allegedly located a knife in a backpack he was carrying.
The man was taken to Gosford Police Station where he was charged with attempted robbery, armed with intent, custody of a knife in public place and resist police.
He was refused bail and is due to appear at Gosford Local Court today.
