The Tamworth Pirates will kick off their 2016 season with a sevens competition in Newcastle.
They’ll be the only local side to contest the Michael “Whale” Curry Memorial.
The black-and-golds have been handed a tough draw – they’ll face defending champions Manly as well as travelling sevens outfit, the Dingoes.
The competition is the first of three away tournaments the Pirates plan to attend throughout the pre-season.
