Communities affected by mining are set to share in $32-million in state government funding, through the latest round of Resources for Regions Program.
The money is designed to help towns impacted by mining fund infrastructure projects.
Gunnedah Council is hopeful of securing its share, having previously missed out.
Councils will be assessed on the economic and social impacts of mining in their region – expressions of interest close on April 7.
