New South Wales police have arrested 17 people, during a major sting linked to the Rebels Bikie Gang. The operation involved more than 200 officers from the riot squad, Pol-Air and the bomb squad, who carried out simultaneous raids on the Central Coast. They seized drugs, weapons, cash and several reptiles.
A 17-year-old girl has been charged over a brawl involving schoolgirls in Sydney’s southwest. Up to 40 teenagers watched and filmed the violence where up to five girls – one carrying a knife – fought on the street.
Two activists have abseiled from a bridge across one of Melbourne’s busiest freeways this morning – protesting over the deportation of refugees to Nauru.
