You may have noticed plenty of activity along Newcastle’s rail corridor in recent days.
Workers are dismantling and removing the line, sleepers and overhead wiring between Wickham and Newcastle stations.
The work is expected to be complete by the end of the month.
Save Our Rail says the Baird Government has been quick to remove the infrastructure, but slow to reveal and implement its plans for a replacement transport service.
