WILD WINDS WHIP THE HUNTER

the Hunter didn’t escape the wild winds, with gusts of up to 98 kilometres an hour recorded at Nobbys Headland.

The State Emergency Service was kept busy at Cooranbong tending to 39 jobs, most of which were related to fallen trees, which had damaged homes and blocked roads.

So far SES volunteers have been called to help at 159 incidents across the region.

And while winds have damaged dozens of trees, the embattled Laman Street figs withstood the strong gusts.
