A group of hard working Far North Coast residents have been singled out for Australia Day honours.
Among them, Bluesfest director Peter Noble, who was awarded for his contribution to music.
Volunteer Ken Jolley was also acknowledged for his service with the Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter.
“I love doing it and I love interacting with the people because when I got home from Vietnam I knew what the choppers could do, life saving machines they are and I got involved with that.”
In total, seven people from around the region were named on the honour roll.
